Title: Feature selection finds new features relevant for alternative splicing

Abstract: The talk will give an introduction to feature selection

techniques for classification problems. Some ideas will be demonstrated

by recent application to the problem of identification of alternatively

spliced exons, in which we revealed new features relevant for

alternative splicing. These features enabled us to produce a very

accurate classifier, that enables one to reliably identify alternatively

spliced exons in exon databases.
